This past Saturday, the Bell County cross country team competed at the Southern Harrier Classic in Somerset. The Bobcat varsity boys finished third in a competitive field. Leading the way with a first place finish in the 5K was Caden Miracle with a time of 16:34.96, followed by Johanan Woodring in 14th (19:00.42), Jacob Robbins in 25th (20:12.61), James Arno 28th (20:57.31), Peyton Mason 29th (21:06.83), Lucas Miracle 34th (21:32.49), Bryson Baker 35th (21:45.52), Nathan Miracle 37th (22:11.98), Noah Stewart 42nd (23:21.20).

On the girls varsity side, Jazmine Brannon lead the way with an eighth place finish (21:58.66) and Kaylin Hickey placed 29th (28:11.75) both setting season personal records.

“I’m very proud of where all the varsity runners are at this point in the season. They are working hard, and we are seeing the results,” said Bell County coach Jason Stewart.

In boys middle school, Hayden Green lead the way for the middle school Bobcats with a third place finish in the 3K (11:47.45). Braydin Hickey placed fourth (12:09.65), Landon Eldridge 24th (16:31.38), Hunter Smith 32nd (18:14), and Dawson Brown 34th (20:25.75). The middle school Bobcats placed third as a team.

“The middle school squad continue to work hard and it’s showing, Hayden and Braydin have both really stepped up the season. They are learning to lead by example and the team is following,” said Stewart.

In boys elementary, Nicholas Stewart placed first overall in the 2K (7:21.98), followed by Elijah Hampton in second (7:36.40), Jacob Brannon seventh (8:10.19), Reese Arno ninth (8:22.60), Tanner Simpson 11th (8:34.55) and Eli Knuckles 54th (10:40.37). The elementary boys Bobcats placed first overall, winning their fourth meet in a row. On the girls side, Olivia Morales placed 15th (10:08.12).

“These elementary kids are racing hard every single race, I’m so proud of all of them,” said Stewart.
