It feels like yesterday that Bell County seemed to have a firm grip on a top 10 spot inside of Class 3A. In the latest edition of the Associated Press rankings, the Bobcats are barely hanging on.

On Friday, Bell County went toe-to-toe with top-10 ranked Casey County in a game that was tied with a little over seven minutes remaining in regulation. The Rebels were able to seize control of momentum late and rattled off three consecutive scores in the waning moments of the game to walk away with a decisive 49-28 victory.

Bell — the only team in the county that has broke into the top 10 this season — now sits at No. 16 in Class 3A receiving only a single vote.

The Rebels on the other hand used a victory over the Bobcats to secure the No. 7 spot in Class 3A. They were only two points shy of moving up to No. 6, which is being held by Caldwell County.
