For the first time this season, Bell County is out of the top 10 AP rankings in Class 3A. The Bobcats barely missed out on the top 10 receiving 18 points — two shy of No. 10 Union County, who finished with 20 total points.

Bell County opened the year ranked No. 8 in the first poll of the season after defeating Middlesboro and Letcher County Central. Each week the Bobcats climbed the rankings peaking at No. 6 before a 28-6 loss to Whitley County knocked Bell down to No. 10.

Last week, the Bobcats outpaced McCreary Central in a 75-43 victory over the Raiders. The district win wasn’t enough to keep Bell County inside the top 10.
