Four Bell County runners earn medals in race at Horse Park

The Bell County cross country team traveled to the Kentucky Horse Park on Sunday to run on the iconic state course at the KTCCCA Meet of Champions cross country meet.
Freshman Abagail Johnson had a standout performance placing 17th for the Lady Cats in a field of 143 runners over the girls 5K. Teammate Kaelyn Lyrock also had a solid performance, placing 40th overall, earning a second medal for the girls’ squad. Meredith Allend placed 100th in her first race back after missing a recent meet due to illness.
The boys also had a solid day at the Horse Park. Junior Nicholas Stewart and senior Braydin Hickey gave the Bobcats medals in the boys race. Stewart placed 31st and Hickey was 45th overall out of 302 runners in the field. Reese Arno just missed cracking the top 50 with a 54th place effort. Other finishers for the Bobcats were Jonah Slusher (233rd), Doltan Warren (237th), Landon Eldridge (279th), and Ashton Manis (294th). Bell placed 11th overall out of 21 full teams.
The team heads to Monticello this weekend for the Class AA region meet.
