Loretta E. Loy, 87, of Monticello, IN, an ever-faithful servant of God, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed on to her eternal reward on Friday, September 6, 2024. She was born on April 14, 1937, in Harrogate, Tennessee to Henderson and A. Elmeda (Thomas) Goins. She was married to John L. Loy on July 9, 1955. They shared 59 blessed years together before his passing in October of 2014. Loretta retired from General Motors in Kokomo, IN before moving to Monticello to be near her family and enjoy the leisure lifestyle of Lake Shafer. She was a member of the Twin Lakes Southern Baptist church and more recently attended the Crossroads of Life Church in Monticello. In addition to her dedication to her church, she regularly volunteered in the community with many organizations such as SFLECC and Lake Shafer Association. Loretta loved golfing with her husband, family, and friends and participated in various leagues in the area. She enjoyed attending bible studies, gardening, puzzles and reading her favorite novels. Loretta was an avid traveler and especially loved her visits to Hawaii. She is survived by her daughter, Sabrina “Kim” Syphers (husband, William “Bill”) of Monticello; two granddaughters, Brittany L. Jazwierski (husband, Dustyn) of Gilbert, AZ and Brooke A. Speckman (husband, Zach) of Monticello; three great-grandchildren, Trent, Tristan, and Daisy Speckman all of Monticello; and a sister Henrietta (Rhette) Jackman of Lakeland, Florida. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant brother Bobby W. Goins and a sister Brenda Stuber Nichols. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Fred L. Miller Memorial Chapel of the Roscka Roth & Clapper Funeral Home in Monticello. Interment held privately.
