Bobcats finish 11th in Norris Dam race; Johnson, Stewart lead Bell

Bell County set numerous personal records with a strong showing Saturday at the Norris Dam Invitational.
The Bell County boys placed 11th out of 27 teams, led by Nicholas Stewart with a time of 17:22.84 to place 26th. Braydin Hickey and Reese Arno also had PRs. Tanner Simpson made his 5K debut. Jonah Slusher, Landon Eldridge, Andrew Hoskins and Ashton Manis also had PRs.
Abagail Johnson finished 32nd to lead the girls with a time of 21:07.18. Kaelyn Lyrock and Meredith Allen also had PRs.
“I’m so proud of these kids. They went to a big meet on a course they didn’t know and competed with no fear,” Bell County coach Jason Stewart said. “Every Bobcat who walked away with a PR or season PR. It’s early September and lots of time left to improve, I’m excited about both these teams boys and girls. Can’t wait to see how they finish the season.”
Bell returns to action on Saturday at the Battlefield Blitz in Danville.
