Workers from Kentucky Utilities have been working hard this week to remove the old street lights and power poles around the Courthouse Square. The KU crew is pictured preparing a light pole at the corner of Pine Street and Kentucky Avenue to be taken down Thursday morning. The poles along Walnut Street and Kentucky Avenue were removed on Wednesday with the Pine Street poles removed on Thursday. As part of the Courthouse Square Streetscape Project, new sidewalks and curbs will soon be installed and the overhead power lines will be buried around the square. (Photo by Jay Compton)
