With four starters and a key reserve graduating, the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets are in a rebuilding phase this summer, and coach John Wheat has been pleased with the early results.

The Jackets won twice on Thursday in summer scrimmages at Bell County, defeating Claiborne, Tenn., and then rolling to an 86-67 victory over Cumberland Gap, Tenn.

Middlesboro played at Whitley County on Monday and Tuesday and play at Campbell County, Tenn., on Friday before traveling to Somerset on June 17.
