The 2024 Pine Mountain HillClimb is this weekend in Pineville.
It all starts on Friday afternoon with the Pine Mountain Hillclimb Festival on Courthouse Square. Drivers competing in the race will have their cars parked all along the square and will be available for pictures and to meet with fans. Food and cold drinks will be available, there will be inflatables for kids to play on and three bands — Shelby Lore Band, Bedford Band, & The Hammer and The Hatchet — will be putting on a free concert.
Racers will be doing time trials up the winding road to Chained Rock on Saturday and Sunday. The HillClimb is sponsored by Main Street Pineville, Bell County Tourism, Backroads of Appalachia, Summit Racing Equipment, Sports Car Club of America, and Pine Mountain State Resort Park.
This year spectators can purchase a $5 wristband at the Bell Theater and take a shuttle up to the park to the viewing areas near the start line at the finish line.
Feel free to bring chairs, blankets, a small cooler-— whatever you need to be comfortable for the day. Bringing alcohol into the park is not allowed. Please do not bring pets, weapons or coolers larger than 18 inches. Please be mindful that the bus is the only way on and off the mountain for spectators and pack and plan accordingly.
Concessions and t-shirts will be available on the hill, Shuttles start at 8 a.m., and will continue until runs are complete, approximately 5 p.m. on Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
