Grace White

Grace G. (Grimes) White of The Woodlands, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at her home in The Woodlands at the age of 99. 

Grace was born January 20, 1925 in Oakham, MA to the late Henry Wallace Grimes and Evelyn Clifford Grimes. She graduated Valedictorian of Barre High School in 1943, and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from Boston University in 1947. She subsequently worked as a statistician for the Medical School of John Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.

In Baltimore, she met and married her husband, Theodore A. White. As the family grew, she became a homemaker, living in several locations in the eastern US and Texas before retiring with her husband in 1986 in Weston, CT. Grace moved to The Woodlands, TX in 2004. 

She was predeceased by her parents and husband, her brother Wallace C. Grimes of East Brookfield, MA, two sisters, Mabel Hunting of Lake Placid, NY, and Eva Grimes of Oakham, MA; and her daughter Cindy White Erickson of Katy, TX.

She is survived by her two sons: Theodore White of Costa Mesa CA; Gary White and wife Marie of The Woodlands, TX, their daughter Elizabeth Tellado and husband Bryan, with children Blake and Kyle of Redondo Beach, CA; their daughter Sarah White of The Woodlands, TX; their son Keith White and wife Kristyn, with children Madelyn and Emmaline of Rancho Mission Viejo, CA; their son Brett White of Golden, CO; also granddaughters Rachel Erickson of Hoamoana, New Zealand, and Siena Erickson of Katy, TX; and grandson Dane Erickson of Houston, TX.

 Grace loved baking with and for her grandchildren, sharing her well-honed skills and techniques. She worked diligently to research her family genealogy and enjoyed sharing the many interesting facts she uncovered. Her creativity was evident through her gardening, landscaping, sewing and home decorating projects.

Grace was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Green Hills Funeral Home, 31 Hurst Rd, Middlesboro, KY 40965 is in charge of arrangements.

A family graveside service was held prior to burial at Middlesboro Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Oakham Historical Museum, 1221 Old Turnpike Rd, Oakham, MA 01068.
