The Middlesboro Lady Jackets opened the 2024 season with a 16-1 rout of visiting Thomas Walker., Va., last Monday.

Kenna Lawson and Trinity Partin teamed on a no-hitter with Lawson striking outlive and walking none in two innings while Partin fanned one and walked one while giving up one run in one inning.

Kolbi Mason and Kaylee Lawson led the Lady Jackets on offense with two hits and two RBI each. Alexis Middleton and Reagan Moyers each added doubles. Partin, Kennedy Yoakum, Abney Allen and Madison Helton added one single each.

Middlesboro fell 5-2 last Tuesday at Clay County.

Middleton, Yoakum, Keevi Betts and Helton had one single each with Helton and Moyers driving in runs.

Kenna Lawson struck out four and allowed two hits in three shutout innings in the circle. Kaylee Lawson allowed five runs on six hits with one walk in three innings.
