Shirley Ruth Martin, age 75, passed away Jan. 2, 2024 at the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Middlesboro, Kentucky.

She was born Sept.r 2, 1948 in South Pittsburg, Tennessee to the late Johnny Ray and Martha Ellen Mason Workman.

Shirley was a member of the Middlesboro Church of Christ and in her earlier years had been a Sunday School teacher. As a young lady she was very athletic and enjoyed participating in various sports; she especially loved and excelled in volleyball and softball. She loved so much to spend time with her family, her son, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Martha Ray Workman Bozeman and Debbie Potts, daughter Robin Lynn Martin Robbins, and brothers-in-law Leroy Bozeman and Larry Potts.

Left to cherish her memory, her son Ricky Martin, brother Charlie (Wanda) Workman, sister Almeda (Bobby) Potts, grandchildren Jonathan Martin, Ashley Edwards, Candice Riggs, Allison Martin, and Kristen Riggs, great grandchildren Abigail Mason, Jaylan Martin, Cheyenne Thompson, and Raelyn Edwards, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

A private memorial service for Shirley Ruth Martin will be held at a later date.
