Two men charged in theft of pickup truck

Two men are in jail following the theft of a pickup truck, which was stolen from Dixie Auto Sales Sunday night, June 7, according to a statement from the Bell County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Bell County Deputy Frank Foster was in charge of the initial portion of the case, and two men from Flat Lick, Kentucky, are now in the Knox County Detention Center. Steven Lonnie Merida, 45, was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000, persistent felony offender, and was also served a fugitive warrant, according to the statement. Randy Merida, 51, was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000.

According to the Knox County Detention Center’s website, Steven Merida is being held on a $25,000 cash bond for the receiving stolen property charge, and $25,000 cash bond for the fugitive charge. Randy Merida is being held on a $10,000 cash bond for his receiving stolen property charge.
