Junior becomes first men’s golfer to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District® recognition in over 20 years
For the first time since 1998 a Lincoln Memorial University men’s golfer has earned Academic All-District® honors from College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Junior All-American Dan Bradbury has been placed on the 2020 Academic All-District® Men’s At-Large Team, selected by CoSIDA and announced Thursday afternoon.
Bradbury becomes the first Railsplitter golf CoSIDA Academic All-District® At-Large honoree since Brandon Kucher. Recognizing the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom, the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III and NAIA.
A native of Yorkshire, England (Kettlethorpe HS), Bradbury has been impressive in the classroom touting above a 3.5 grade point average as one of the nation’s top-five golfers. Recently named a finalist for the Jack Nicklaus National Player of Year award, Bradbury posted the lowest single-season scoring average in program history (70.25) en route to Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) PING Division II All-American First Team laurels.
The 2020 South Atlantic Conference Golfer of the Year and All-SAC First Team member closed out the shortened season ranked fourth in the nation according to GolfStat. Bradbury won three tournaments during 2019-20, the State Farm Intercollegiate, South Region Preview, and Battle at Hilton Head, brining his career individual tournament title total to six to tie for the second-most in program history.
Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 16-19.
