Cumberland, KY On May 22, Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College launched a virtual celebration for its fall 2019 and spring 2020 graduates. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the College was unable to hold its traditional in-person graduation exercises.

Following a congratulatory speech from Southeast President Vic Adams, the video recognized approximately 650 candidates for graduation who earned 962 credentials, including associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Of those students, 95 shared their photos and biographies for a special moment of recognition.

“We are very proud of these students who stayed the course during less than ideal circumstances,” said Dr. Adams. “Many of them worked from home and homeschooled their children while completing their coursework remotely. Graduating under normal circumstances is a significant accomplishment, but earning a credential under these circumstances is exceptional!”

According to Dr. Adams, Southeast’s graduation will be rescheduled for a later date in the fall.
