Given the ongoing uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and out of great concern for the health, safety and well-being of our community, Middlesboro Main Street has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Levitt AMP Middlesboro Music Series. The Levitt AMP Committee is exploring options to bring live music to living rooms across Middlesboro through virtual concerts.

“This decision did not come easily, as it impacts many people in our community, including our dedicated staff, artists, community partners, volunteers, vendors and sponsors, in addition to the hundreds of friends, families and neighbors who enjoy free Levitt AMP concerts in downtown Middlesboro every summer,” said Larry Grandey, Executive Director of Middlesboro Main Street.

The anticipated dates for the Levitt AMP Virtual Music Series are June 1 through August 28, with concerts airing one to two times per week. Stay tuned to the Levitt AMP Middlesboro Facebook page as they will spotlight the community, post livestreaming performances, and share updates about the organization and when Levitt AMP concerts will return.

The Levitt Foundation grant for $25,000 will roll over to 2021, and due to the multi-year grant the concert series will run through 2022.

“We are grateful for the Levitt Foundation’s generosity and expressed desire to continue to help with our shared mission of reviving public spaces in our community,” said Grandey. “While for now the show must not go on, we look forward to when we can all once again come together and experience the joy of free, live music under the stars. Until we meet again, your ongoing support of Middlesboro Main Street and the Levitt AMP Middlesboro Music Series is deeply appreciated as we continue the Levitt mission of building community through music.”
