The Kentucky Chamber Political Action Committee (PAC) announced Monday endorsements of several candidates involved in primaries which will take place on Tuesday, June 23rd.

State House and Senate candidates who submitted answers to the Kentucky Chamber PAC’s 2020 legislative candidate survey and face a contested primary were considered for endorsement.

Candidates selected by the Kentucky Chamber PAC for endorsement have demonstrated their support for job growth and economic development, which will lead to a higher quality of life for the citizens of their districts and the Commonwealth. Endorsements are based on the candidate’s understanding of business issues, past voting records, and answers to the Kentucky Chamber PAC’s 2020 legislative candidate survey.

The leadership of these individuals will be crucial in Frankfort as the state looks to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following candidates have received the endorsement of the Kentucky Chamber PAC for the 2020 Primary:

• H-1 Representative Steven Rudy
• H- 22 Shawn McPherson
• H-26 Representative Russell Webber
• H-39 Jay Corman
• H-45 Shirley Mitchell
• H-52 Representative Ken Upchurch
• H-58 Jennifer Decker
• H-59 House Speaker David Osborne
• H-71 Josh Bray
• H-73 Representative Les Yates
• H-82 Representative Regina Huff
• H-83 Josh Branscum
• H-85 Wes Hargis

Only candidates who submitted answers to the Chamber PAC’s survey were considered for endorsement. The Kentucky Chamber PAC does not endorse in districts where there is no opposition to the candidate in the primary race. The above endorsements are for the June Primary Election. General Election endorsements will take place closer to November.

There is also upcoming special election on the same day as the primary election to replace state Sen. Ernie Harris, who announced his retirement in April. Harris served Senate District 26 which includes parts of Oldham and Jefferson Counties. Businessman Bill Ferko received the support of the Kentucky Chamber PAC in that race.
