The Family Resource Youth Service Center invited the County Court Clerk, Debbie Turner Gambrel and the Circuit Court Clerk Colby Slusher to hold a career class at Lone Jack School Center. Mrs. Gambrel taught the students about how her office could help the public with car tags, vehicle transfers, deeds and marriage license. She also explained how a lot of this information was open to the public to see. She invited our students to come by for a tour at her office at any time, and that if she could be of help to them or their families, she would do her best to do so. Colby taught our students how at his office, they could get their drivers licenses, and how this process could change in the future. He told them about how his office helped with the court system, including the jailer, judge, judge executive, etc. Colby gave the students a booklet called “County Government Booklet” which explained a lot of the ways the office helps in their fields of work. Our students and staff appreciate that they took time out of their day to come to our school to teach us about their different careers.
