Harmon makes announcement of new appointment

FRANKFORT — Mike Harmon, Kentucky’s 47th Auditor of Public Accounts, announced Wednesday the appointment of Jason Johnson as the Acting Executive Director of the Office of Technology and Special Audits within the Office of the Auditor of Public Accounts (APA).

“Jason brings a wealth of experience and talent to his new role with Team Follow the Data,” said Harmon. “This office has handled many important audits and examinations conducted over the last four years, including KentuckyWired and the University of Louisville Foundation. It is imperative this office continues working to bring greater transparency and accountability to all areas of government. I’m pleased to have Jason leading this office.”

Johnson, who has worked for APA for 24 years, previously served as a Deputy Executive Director of the Office of Financial Audits. Johnson, a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Government Auditing Professional. He has also served as a Deputy Executive Director for the Office of Technology and Special Audits, and in the Office of Financial Audits as an Audit Manager.
