Pineville High School senior guard Brittany Davis has committed to play basketball for the Union Bulldogs in Barbourville.
In a statement on Facebook, she said, “I am very blessed and thankful to be able to announce that I am furthering my academic and athletic career by committing to Union College. I would first like to thank God for giving me the ability to play the sport I love and my parents, grandparents and family for supporting me in every way possible.
“I want to thank every coach and trainer that has believed in me and helped me get to where I am today. I want to give a special thanks to coach Walsh, coach Eboni and my future teammates for making Union College such a welcoming family atmosphere. I couldn’t have found a better fit. God answers prayers, and I couldn’t be more happy to see what the future holds — go Bulldogs.”
Last season with the Middlesboro Lady Jackets, Davis was third on the team in scoring with 7.8 points per game. She was also third in three-point field goals made and fifth in rebounding.
Prior to her arrival at Middlesboro, Davis started her high school career at Bell County. As a freshman, she averaged 6.7 points while connecting on 32 percent of her shots from long range. As a sophomore, she averaged 9.9 points for the Lady Cats.
In her first and final year with Pineville, Davis’ experience and seniority will be crucial in helping lead a young Lady Lions squad.
