Fans of the Bell County Bobcats turned out to “Meet the Bobcats” on Thursday evening at Bell County High School. There was an alumni game played, a performance by the “little dribblers,” a three-point contest and a dunk contest.

The event was boys coach Brad Sizemore’s first “Meet the Bobcats” as the Bell County head coach.

“We had a great turnout for Meet the Bobcats,” said Sizemore. “It was great to have all of our schools in the county here represented. There was a lot of excitement in the gym from the fans and our athletes from both our high school and elementary.

“Anytime you can get everyone in your program involved and be able to recognize your student athlete, that is a positive. Thursday night made it very obvious to me how much support and pride we have here in Bell County for basketball. There was definitely a lot of energy and excitement in the gym.”

No stranger to “Meet the Bobcats,” girls coach David Teague felt the energy in the gym and was thankful for the turnout.

“Meet the Bobcats is a great way to bring the community together and helps kickoff the upcoming basketball season,” said Teague. “It helps give people a chance to see the girls and boys basketball teams and hopefully get them excited about coming out and watching them play.”

Teague believes the event was a success. “Meet the Bobcats was a great success,” he said. “The gym was packed out, and it shows the excitement that everyone in Bell County has for our student athletes.”
