Center Stage holiday ticket packages now on sale

The Center for Rural Development, in partnership with Lake Cumberland Performing Arts, invites you to attend the remaining three shows of the 2019-20 Center Stage season. Discounted holiday ticket packages are now available, making it possible to attend all three shows for $100 (plus fees)

Center Stage, presented by The Center for Rural Development in partnership with Lake Cumberland Performing Arts, brings Broadway-style performances, musical concerts, dramatic plays, and other family-oriented entertainment to The Center’s state-of-the-art 760-seat theatre. Renowned theatrical groups, performing arts productions, and some of the industry’s top musicians all have performed on The Center’s stage. This season’s exciting entertainment lineup of spectacular performances is sure to have something for everyone.

The next performance, Shadows of the 60s “A Holiday Tribute to Motown,” will be Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. with a pre-show catered dinner at 5:30 p.m. Shadow of the 60s pays tribute to the tremendous legacy of Motown’s Super Groups, “The Supreme Girls Of Motown,” a salute to the legendary female stars of Motown such as The Supremes, Marvelettes, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Mary Wells, Martha Reeves and a host of Motown’s male stars, including Smokie Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Four Tops, Jr. Walker & The Allstars and more. Add in the festive music of Christmas time and old favorites such as Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer, Silent Night and more all done in the style of Motown, and you have an unbelievable night of celebration.

The New Shanghai Circus will be performed by the Acrobats of China on Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. Astonishing athletes defy gravity and execute breathtaking feats as they stretch the limits of human ability in this spellbinding show that draws upon 2,000 years of Chinese circus traditions.

New Shanghai Circus is considered to be China’s most celebrated acrobatic company; the performers for the New Shanghai Circus have stunned and amazed audiences all over the world. Over 40 Acrobats of China showcase dramatic interpretation of classic Chinese dance and physical performance art with extraordinary and inventive feats of strength and skill, control and balance, grace and charisma. If it’s humanly possible – and even if it seems as if it’s not – these acrobats, jugglers and contortionists do it with spectacular flair!

The season wraps up with Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium Adventure on March 26 at 7 p.m. with an additional VIP Experience Meet and Greet taking place at 5:30 p.m. The creators of Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live want to take your family on an all-new adventure – this time to the bottom of the ocean. Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium Adventure is an immersive experience that invites you to jump in and explore unknown ocean depths where prehistoric marine reptiles lived eons ago – and maybe live still today!

Erth shows are at the forefront of family entertainment, using actors, technology, puppets, science, and imagination to create an amazing visual experience that connects young audiences to the real science of paleontology. With the purchase of the VIP Experience ticket, you not only get the best seats in the house, but you’re invited into the theatre early for an up-close-and-personal introduction to one of the amazing underwater creatures by knowledgeable puppeteers who bring them to life. You also receive show merchandise and of course, picture taking is encouraged!

Individual show tickets are $35 (plus fees) for adults and $25 (plus fees) for students (pre-school through college). Holiday ticket packages are currently being offered, making it possible to purchase adult tickets to attend all three shows for $100 (plus fees). The Shadows of the 60s “A Holiday Tribute to Motown” pre-show dinner tickets are $15 (plus fees) per person. For those who would like to participate in the Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium Adventure VIP Meet and Greet, adult tickets including the VIP Experience are $60 (plus fees). Student tickets with the VIP Experience are $50 (plus fees).
