Our neighbors to the south experienced severe weather on Thursday afternoon. Strong winds left a few structures damaged and several trees down in New Tazewell, Tenn. Downed electric poles created hazards for some as the rain continued to fall for several hours. Pictured, to the left, is a billboard that was damaged along Broad Street in New Tazewell. Across the street from that sign, the roof of the old Torbett building suffered damage as well. At one point, there was a tornado warning but the National Weather Service reported no tornado touched down.
