MIDDLESBORO – Shirley May Gouze, age 69, Middlesboro, KY passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Facility. She was born on September 2, 1950, the daughter of the late Ervin Barnett and Ada Givens Barnett. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Lee Osborne and the father of her children, William Wambles. She believed in the Jesus Only Faith. She loved going to church and being the outdoors. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her daughters: Sherry (George) Simpson and Barbara (Michael) Thomas; grandchildren: Ashley (Jeremy) Barnett, Jessica (William) Bracey, Jennifer Hurst, Connor Hurst, Kortney, Daniel and Adreann Thomas; great grandchildren: Taylor, Payton, and Jeremy Barnett, Bryar Bracey, Amelia Fry and Nevaeh Hurst; sister, Sarah Linda Barnett (Roger Bradshaw); special friends: Barbara Ann Sampson, Radar Wagner and Srithe, Betty Ely and Tiffany and Mike Fry; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Celebration of Shirley’s life receiving of friends will be 12 noon to 3 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
