ARJAY – Jerry Dwayne Rutherford age 67 of Arjay, KY left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior on October 7, 2019. Jerry was a long time follower of Jesus and his light always shined unto others. Jerry was a Coal Miner for over 22 years. He was a model husband, father, grandfather and friend who could always make light of any situation with humor or provide extensive wisdom to redirect our moral compasses.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Rutherford and Gladys Rutherford Kinkade, his parents-In-Law, Jack and Opal Smith, his brother, Marvin Rutherford and his son, Jackie Rutherford.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Smith Rutherford, sons, Jason Rutherford (Danielle) of Lexington, KY and Ean Rutherford of Arjay, KY, his daughter in law Sonja Rutherford of Morristown, TN, his grandchildren, Isabella, Tressa, Hailey, Alexis and Gavin Rutherford, his siblings, James Rutherford, Michael Kinkade and Nettie Wood.

The visitation will be held at Annett and Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, KY. The visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 11th. The Funeral service will immediately follow. Interment will be held at Big Jim Cemetery on October 12th at 11 a.m. Jeremy Sanders will be presiding over the service and the eulogy will be given by Mark Hunter. Special music will be performed by James Rutherford and Mitch Williams. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctors, Johnnie Combs and the staff of the Kentucky Clinic for the countless hours and dedication to this special man.
