The Bell County junior football league fifth-and-sixth grade finished their season as the Southland Conference Super Bowl champions. They finished the season with a record of 11-2. They defeated the North Laurel Jaguars in the Super Bowl 14-6.

Kaleb Miller had Bell’s first touchdown running in for a score. Blake Burnett added the extra point on a rush. Spencer Phipps ran in Bell’s second touchdown and Burnett completed the extra point conversion with a pass to Ethan Buell. North Laurel’s lone touchdown came on a run by their quarterback.

Bell County’s head coach, PJ Burnett, said he was extremely proud of his team this year.

“We started out in July, and the heat has been relentless throughout the season,” said Burnett. “To have such a successful season over some very good teams is a credit to our players, coaches and parents who dedicated themselves to attending practice every day.

“With the players we have in our youth league, community support, facilities and dedication by our Bell County school administrators, Bell County football will continue to be exciting and successful on all levels.”

Bell County’s 9-10 year old group won their Super Bowl as well over North Laurel 42-6. They finished the season with a record of 13-0.
