The nursing advocacy organization RegisteredNursing.org released its list of 2019 Best RN Programs in Kentucky, placing Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) in the ninth spot.

“The Caylor School of Nursing strives to educate excellent health care providers for the Appalachian region and beyond, and our Corbin, Kentucky, program helps to meet that mission of service,” said Dr. Mary Anne Modrcin, vice president and dean. “I am very proud of the hard work and successes by the faculty, students and staff at our nursing site in Corbin.”

The LMU-Caylor School of Nursing offers its Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program in Kentucky at its Corbin off-campus site located in the Tri-County Square Shopping Center. LMU’s ASN program prepares graduates to be safe and effective caregivers who are able to function successfully in entry level RN positions after passing the NCLEX-RN State Board Exam. In 2018, 97 percent of LMU’s ASN graduates passed their NCLEX-RN exam on their first attempt. After receiving their RN license, graduates are eligible to work in any setting that hires registered nurses.

In the RegisteredNursing.org ranking, nursing programs were assessed on several factors which represent how well a program supports students toward licensure and beyond. NCLEX-RN pass rates were an integral part of the methodology in the rankings.

On Oct. 1, the LMU-Corbin off-campus site will host a “Snacks and Facts” event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a “Discover Nursing at LMU” open house from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Both events offer an informal drop-in opportunity to get more information about nursing at LMU.
