Every boys varsity runner for Bell County’s Cross Country team set personal records or season personal records in the Catbird Classic meet at North Laurel High School on Saturday.
Olivia Morales set a season personal record with a fourth-place finish in the girls’ elementary race. The elementary boys team won the Catbird invitational.
“That’s two wins in a row for the elementary boys. They are working hard, and it’s really showing,” said coach Jason Stewart. “I loved the effort from the middle school crew. Those guys raced hard.”
Caden Miracle set a new course record in the 5K with a time of 16:35.22, while placing first overall in boys varsity. Nicholas Stewart set a new 2K course record, while also setting a new school record with a time of 5:59.41 and placed first overall in boys elementary.
“Caden and Nickel have been running for years now. They understand it’s a process and it takes work. These guys give you 110 percent, and I couldn’t be prouder of them.”
