Middlesboro undergoes citywide power outage

Just after noon on Friday, all of Middlesboro experienced a large power outage putting the entire city to a stop. The City of Middlesboro got to work to ensure that the public was safe on the roadways. Middlesboro Police Department, Fire Department, and Street Department worked together to control traffic at intersections, red lights and at school entrances. Middlesboro Independent Schools were released between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Throughout the afternoon, power was restored to communities and along U.S. 25E and Cumberland Avenue.
