Music for Miners to benefit hurting families

If you haven’t purchased your tickets for the Music for Miners week one show, you still have time. You can also purchase them at the door of Bell Theater.

The first artist will take the stage at 6 p.m. on Friday.

“We’re ecstatic to announce we’ve added The Local Honeys to Music for Miners week one,” Bell County Tourism Director Jon Grace said. “We’re proud to partner with Main Street Pineville to bring you two benefit shows for our miners affected by the Blackjewel situation.”

Tickets for each show are just $10, and you can get tickets to both shows for just $15.

Bell County Tourism in conjunction with Main Street Pineville will be hosting the two-weekend event to raise money for families affected by the recent closure of the mines.

“All proceeds from the shows will go to helping our local, out of work miners,” Grace explained. “All our miners will get free admission to both shows for themselves and up to three family members.”

The event is scheduled to be held inside the Bell Theater on Friday and Aug. 24 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

You can purchase tickets for the shows at the Eventbrite Link that is posted to the Bell County Tourism Page and the Main Street Pineville Facebook Page.

“We have had so many musicians reach out to us, and we appreciate it so much,” Grace said. “I want to personally thank all the bands that have reached out to help. Let’s pack this thing out.”

All proceeds from both shows will go to helping the miners and their families.
