Middlesboro community picnic a huge success

The Middlesboro Parks and Recreation Committee held their first community picnic in conjunction with the Middlesboro City Council at Southside Park Saturday. The picnic began at noon and ended at 4 p.m. “The community picnic at Southside Park was a tremendous success,” Mayor Rick Nelson said. “Kudos to Boone Bowling, the chairman of the Parks and Recreation Committee.” The committee held games, hosted a music booth and had lots of food for the community to come out and enjoy. “We want to do more events like this,” Bowling said. “We will defintely let the community know when another one is planned.”
