Man pulled from vehicle before it burst into flames

The driver of a vehicle that caught on fire Friday morning was not injured and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. According to reports, the vehicle began smoking at approximately 11:15 a.m. causing the driver to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle stopped in front of Happy Mart in Pineville, and the driver was pulled from the vehicle by an off-duty Kentucky State Police trooper just before the vehicle burst into flames. Arriving on the scene was Pineville Police Officer Bill Matthews, Kentucky State Police Trooper Josh Messer, Pineville Fire Department and the Bell County EMS. The driver was examined on scene and was determined to have no injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by officer Matthews.
