This weekend, get ready for two days of fun under the sun with a car show, vendors, a rummage sale, food, an outdoor movie, and so much more.

This Saturday and Sunday at the Middlesboro City Parking Lot, A2Z Automotive, along with Middlesboro Main Street, Bell County Tourism, and Southern Girls Events, is hosting the Downtown Drive-In and Deals.

“We are going to be doing a Cruise In style car show,” Brance Combs said. “What I am hoping to do is have one of the Veterans and maybe someone from the chamber come together and pick their favorite cars that are there. I’m going to hand build some trophies to hand out, and we will have some food and some arts and craft vendors.”

The festivities will begin at noon on Saturday and last until 8 p.m. followed by a movie at the Levitt Lot.

“Middlesboro Main Street will be showing Cars 3 at the Levitt Lot at 9 p.m. for the outdoor movie,” Middlesboro Main Street Director Emily Ayers said. “Everyone is invited out for a full day of fun.”

According to Combs, Sunday will be a car and truck meet.

“Everybody will just come out and then just hang out together,” he said. “Hopefully the food trucks and everything will be set up from the day before.”

Sunday’s event will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and you can register your car by contacting A2Z Automotive at 423-494-6400.

“Southern Girls Events will also be hosting a rummage sale,” Ayers said. “It is like a yard sale, and there will be food and vendors.”

“Emily came to me and asked if I could help get a car show together,” Combs explained. “We talked and ran a few ideas around and brainstormed trying to figure out what we could do that would try to give our hometown a little something to look forward to.”

Combs explained he wants to give people something to do in their hometown.

“I want to give people something to do to where me and my family can go out and enjoy a good time,” he said. “Even if I’m not the one directly doing it, I would just like to make Middlesboro a better place to live.”
