Vietnam Veterans to be honored, celebrated

Mark your calendars for July 6 for this community-wide event and everyone is invited and encouraged to come honor and celebrate local Vietnam Veterans.
The event will be held in the Middlesboro City Parking Lot and will honor Vietnam Veterans throughout the tri-state area with a parade that is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
“We want this to be an annual event,” Bell County Chamber of Commerce Director Sheila Durham said. “We would like to recognize a different war or conflict each year.”
Anyone interested in entering a float or a vehicle can call Durham at the Chamber of Commerce at 606-248-1075.
There will be information material available, food vendors, craft vendors, live entertainment, and the parade.
“Come out and support out veterans,” said Durham. “Let them know how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice.”
Vendors will be ready to sell no later than 2 p.m. and can contact a member of the Tri-State Veteran Association or the Bell County Chamber of Commerce if you would like to be involved.
