Bell County native and former Lady Bobcat, Maci Morris, will get the opportunity to further her basketball career after signing a professional contract in Italy with USE Scotti Empoli in the Serie-A1 League.

The season runs from October through March. Last season, Empoli tallied a record of 4-16 and finished ninth out of 12 teams in their division. Morris will not be the only US-born player on the team. Last season, former Duke player Erin Mathias led the team in scoring with 16.3 points per game.

The former UK standout will be in Middlesboro July 11 and 12 to host a basketball camp for kindergarten through eighth grade before heading overseas.
