Officers with the Middlesboro Police Department arrested a man Tuesday afternoon for allegedly shooting at his wife. George Darrell Fisher, 47, of Bell County, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and violating a Kentucky EPO/DVO.
According to the press release, officers from the Middlesboro Police Department responded to Gordon Lane in Middlesboro at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday in response to a call from a female (later identified as Charlene Fisher) reporting that her estranged husband had just shot at her and left the scene.
The release states the woman identified the man as Fisher and told police that he had shot at her and a male (later identified as John McDowell) that was present at the residence. While on scene, officers collected physical evidence and statements from independent witnesses and victims that led to the arrest of Fisher a short time later.
Fisher was transported and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center, where he remains with no bond. Officer Kenny Vanover is in charge of the investigation. He was assisted by Lt. David Buis, Sgt. Joe Holder, and patrolmen Clay Hurd and Jeremiah Johnson.
