The Family Resource Youth Service Center collaborated with Christy Blevins of the Bell County Extension Office for the LEAPS program. Blevins read a book, titled “Tops and Bottoms,” to the children. Then she presented an activity about gardening to correlate with the story. Students had to distinguish between different types of vegetables that grew below the dirt and that grew on top of the ground. Students glued some of the plants that Blevins read to them from the book on their own garden paper. Students were excited to display their work in the hallway.
