Union College: Two more NAIA qualifiers, one more program record for track

COLUMBIA — The Union College men’s track & field team had two hit NAIA “A” Qualifying Standards with one program record being set at the Last Chance Meet held at Lindsey Wilson College on Wednesday.

Keenan Lawrence placed second in the 800 with a school-record time of 1:52.28. The mark gives him an “A” standard for the NAIA National Championship Meet, while his time ranks 11th this season in the NAIA.

Santerrius Barlow scored the other “A” qualifying mark, placing third in the 100 with a time of 10.59. Barlow’s time is the 20th-fastest in the event this year.

The Union men placed sixth out of nine teams at the meet, scoring 24 points. The Union women tallied 25 points to finish seventh.

Union will have nine student-athletes to compete at the NAIA National Championship Meet on May 23-25 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
