Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College has named its Students of the Month for April:

Jamie Lawson Jr. was named Student of the Month on the Pineville campus. Lawson, a surgical technology student, says he chose Southeast for “multiple reasons.” Like most students, Jamie wanted to stay near family and earn his credentials affordably. He also says that the “smaller class sizes allowed me to learn in a comfortable environment, and the flexible schedule allowed me to work while taking classes.”

Dalli Conner was chosen as Student of the Month on the Middlesboro campus. Conner plans to graduate with his Associate of Arts degree in this month. He says he chose our college “because of the great staff and because they care about their students’ education.” Dalli has also shown great resilience despite significant setbacks. He has walked to campus throughout his two years of study.

Each SKCTC campus has a Student of the Month selection committee appointed by its campus director. In making its choice, the committee weighs criteria such as academic performance, extracurricular activities, work ethic, helpfulness to others, and whether the student has had to overcome significant barriers in achieving academic success.
