According to Claiborne County authorities, an incident that occurred Monday afternoon in New Tazewell is still being considered an open and ongoing investigation.

Two people were confirmed dead on the scene, and they were later identified by investigators as 53-year-old Michael Parker and his 23-year-old daughter Jordyn Parker.

Investigators previously stated they were investigating a shooting call but are not confirming that as how the two died.

Detectives Tim Shrout and Jason Henegar are in charge of the investigation and stated that more information will be released as it is made available for the public.
