Local schools participate in South Laurel Invitational

The Yellow Jackets, Bobcats and Mountain Lions were all represented in the South Laurel Invitational track meet on Friday in London. Bell County, Corbin, Knox Central, Lynn Camp, Middlesboro, North Laurel, Oneida Baptist Institute, Owsley County, Perry County Central, Pineville, Pulaski County, Red Bird, Rockcastle County, Somerset, Somerset Christian, South Laurel, Southwestern and Williamsburg were all in attendance.

Bell County results

In the men’s 100-meter dash, Ashlund Dennis grabbed a 3rd place finish with a time of 11.72 seconds. Jonathan Langford followed up with a 14th place finish and a time of 12.46 seconds. Dennis also took 5th place in the 200-meter event with a time of 23.66 seconds.

In the women’s 100-meter dash, Lenia Miracle finished 8th with a time of 14.19 seconds and Larel Nolan finished 14th with a time of 15.06 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Alyssa Brooks finished 18th with a time of 31.99 seconds.

In the 400-meter dash, Isaac Eldridge took 11th place with a time of 57.42 seconds and Jordan Allen finished 23rd with a time of 1:02.27. In the women’s 400-meter dash, Abbie Armstrong grabbed a 22nd place finish with a time of 1:24.14.

In the 800-meter event, Andrew Caldwell took 2nd place with a time of 2:07.19 and Luke Akers grabbed the 23rd spot with a time of 2:31.00. In the women’s 800-meter event, Charity Johnson finished 17th with a time of 3:06.77 and Sara Saylor finished 21st with a time of 3:39.98.

In the women’s 100-meter hurdles, Armstrong finished 14th with a time of 22.89. In the women’s 4×100-meter relay, the Lady Cats finished 9th with a time of 1:00.66. In the 4×200-meter relay, Bell County was able to finish 11th with a time of 2:08.14.

In the 1600-meter event, Lucas Miracle finished 18th with a time of 5:51.05 and James Arno grabbed 20th with a time of 6:08.97.

The Bobcats finished with a time of 1:40.30 in the 4×200 relay, good for a 6th place finish for the event.

In the high jump, Tyler Jackson took 8th place with a height of 5 feet, 4 inches. In the long jump, Eldridge finished 4th with a distance of 18 feet, 1 inch. Langford finished 18th with a distance of 15 feet 3 inches.

In the triple jump, Hunter Bailey finished 8th with a total distance of 33 feet, 11 inches and Aaron Dean finished 10th with a total distance of 32 feet, 9 inches.

In the discus, Chase Huff grabbed the 16th spot with a throw of 83 feet and Dean grabbed 21st with a throw of 71 feet, 9 inches. In the shot put, Bailey finished 10th with a throw of 35 feet, 2 inches and Dean finished 14th with a throw of 32 feet, 7 inches.

In the women’s discus, Lindsey Woody finished 9th with a distance to 69 feet, 9 inches. She also finished 12th in the shot put with a throw of 23 feet, 2 inches.

Middlesboro results

In the men’s 100-meter dash, Alex Mason finished 5th with a time of 11.74 and Scotty Overbay finished in 6th with a time of 11.80. In the women’s 100-meter dash, Kayla James took 7th place with a time of 14.17 and Brittney Davis finished 22nd with a time of 16.11 seconds.

In the men’s 200-meter dash, Mason finished 3rd with a time of 23.48 seconds and Jabari Kyle finished 10th with a time of 24.73 seconds. In the women’s 200-meter dash, Kayla James took 7th place with a time of 29.30 seconds and Marta Segura finished 9th with a time of 29.78 seconds.

In the men’s 400-meter dash, Steven Poore finished in 3rd place with a time of 53.46. In the women’s 400-meter dash, Brooklyn Grigsby finished 11th with a time of 1:11.98 and Kennadi Larew finished in 14th with a time of 1:12.33.

In the men’s 800-meter event, Junior Arrieta finished 10th with a time of 2:12.49 and Cameron Michaelis finished 27th with a time of 2:47.89. In the women’s 800-meter event, Grace Rose took 5th place with a time of 2:36.91 and Kirsten Keith took 16th place with a time of 3:04.04.

In the men’s 1600-meter event, Ozzy Norris finished 9th with a time of 5:06.12 and Brendan Delph finished in 9th with a time of 5:25.63. Norris finished 6th in the 3200-meter event with a time of 11:23.38 and Delph finished 9th with a time of 11:55.95. In the women’s 1600-meter event, Mallory James took 5th place with a time of 5:58.63 and Emory Glover finished 15th with a time of 6:46.91. In the women’s 3200-meter event, Glover finished 8th with a time of 15:38.17.

In the men’s 110-meter hurdles, Blaine Woody finished 7th with a time of 19.10 second and Nathan Napier finished 8th with a time of 19.40 seconds. In the women’s 100-meter hurdles, Haven Hatfield took 4th with a time of 19.44 seconds and Makena Schneider took 16th place with a time of 23.93.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Woody finished in 7th place with a time of 47.64 seconds and Isiah Dick finished 8th with a time of 48.32 seconds. In the women’s 300-meter hurdles, Hatfied finished 10th with a time of 57.86.

In the men’s 4×100-meter relay, the Yellow Jackets finished 2nd with a time of 45.88 seconds. In the 4×200, Middlesboro managed another 2nd place finish with a time of 1:35.73. The Jackets finished 5th in the 4×400-meter event and 7th in the 4×800-meter event with times of 3:49.86 and 9:25.98 respectively.

In the women’s 4×100-meter relay, the Lady Jackets finished 6th with a time of 57.39. They finished 3rd in the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 1:56.47 and 2nd in the 4×800-meter relay with a time of 10:54.28.

In the high jump, Poore took 4th place with a jump of 5 feet, 8 inches. In the long jump, Kyle took 1st place with a distance of 20 feet, 3 inches and Poore finished in 5th with a distance of 18 feet, 1 inch. In the triple jump, T.J. Patterson finished 11th with a total distance of 32 feet, 3 inches.

In the women’s high jump, Kiara Brooks finished 4th with a height of 4 feet, 4 inches. In the women’s long jump, Skye Collins finished 16th with a distance of 12 feet, 9 inches, and Grace Temple finished 21st with a distance of 7 feet, 10 inches. In the triple jump, Capps took 10th with a total distance of 26 feet, 11 inches, and Collins took 14th with a total distance of 23 feet, 9 inches.

In the discus, Zach Tong took 12th with a throw of 87 feet, 9 inches, and Caleb Bogonko took 24th with a throw of 55 feet, 7 inches. In the shot put, Bogonko took 11th place with a throw of 35 feet and three-quarter inches. Tong took 19th with a throw of 31 feet and 7 1/2 inches.

In women’s discus, Ryann Tong took 17th with a throw of 51 feet, 11 inches, and Takayla Hensley took 23rd with a throw of 39 feet, 2 inches. Hensley took 14th in the shot put with a throw of 22 feet, 3 inches, and Tong took 19th with a throw of 19 feet, 7 inches.

Pineville results

In the men’s 100-meter dash, Richard Beverly took 28th place with a time of 14.02 seconds. In the men’s 200-meter dash, Nate Lawson finished 29th with a time of 31.04 seconds. In the men’s 400-meter dash, Landon Couch took 4th place with a time of 55.16 seconds and Kaden Handshoe took 29th with a time of 1:20.53.

In the women’s 100-meter dash, Sarah Elliot took 29th place with a time of 18.29 seconds. In the 400-meter dash, Aurelia Obenshain took 21st with a time of 1:23.61.

In the 4×100-meter event, the Lady Lions took 11th place with a time of 1:04.09 and 13th in the 4×200-meter event with a time of 2:15.74.

In the men’s 800-meter run, Ethan Smith finished 5th with a time of 2:08.32 and Will Gregory took 28th with a time of 2:51.51. In the men’s 1600-meter event, Cameron Walker took 24th place with a time of 6:35.27.

In the men’s 4×400-meter event, the Mountain Lions finished 10th with a time of 4:06.75.

In the men’s high jump, Cameron Fuson finished in 2nd place with a height of 5 feet, 10 inches. In the long jump, Fuson took 6th with a distance of 18 feet, and Jacob Robbins finished 21st with a distance of 12 feet, 6 inches.

Beverly finished 23rd in the men’s discus with a throw of 59 feet, 8 inches. In the shot put, Keaton Thompson finished 13th with a throw of 34 feet, 3 inches, and Tucker Fuson finished 24th with a throw of 27 feet, 11 1/2 inches. Faith Long took 12th in the women’s discus with a throw of 62 feet, 8 inches and 5th in the shot put event with a throw of 26 feet, 6 inches.
