Knox Central handles Middlesboro

Four days after a big win against Harlan County at home, the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets fell to the visiting Knox Central Panthers on Monday, 14-3.
Chris Callihan, Collier Elkins and Braden Ausmus all had one RBI each to total three runs for the Jackets.
In 19 at-bats, the Yellow Jackets only amassed five hits. Ausmus led the Middlesboro offense with two hits and one RBI. Callihan added one hit and one RBI on a double. Tyshawn Simpson had one hit, one run and was walked once. Riley Gent had a double, a run and was walked once. Elkins added one RBI.
Callihan was credited with the loss for the Jackets allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits with five walks in three innings.
Elkins pitched 1 1/3 innings allowing one hit and one earned run with two walks and a strikeout.
Tyler Harris pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed two hits and three runs (none earned) with two walks and no strikeouts.
Stephen Justice pitched less than an inning, allowing four hits and five runs (all earned) with one walk and zero strikeouts.
Middlesboro (7-8) took on the Clay County Tigers on the road Tuesday. Knox Central (15-4) took on the Barbourville Tigers Tuesday at home.
