BOWLING GREEN — Five program records fell, and one national qualifying mark was hit as the Union College men’s and women’s track & field teams competed at the Hilltopper Relays over the weekend.

Hellen Maasotuo headlined the weekend’s festivities as she set the program mark in the women’s 800 with a time of 2:11.70, which placed her second only to Shayla Huebner of NCAA Division II Northern Michigan University. The time is a NAIA ‘A’ Qualifying mark and is currently the second fastest time in the NAIA this season.

To date, Union has three women qualified for the national championship meet. Joining Maasotuo are Daneliz Thomas and Tytiana Lockhart, both of whom will compete in the javelin.
