Lady Cats suffer first loss of the season to Knox Central

The Lady Cats lost their first game of the season on Thursday falling to the Knox Central Lady Panthers on the road, 6-1.

Bell County had a hard time getting anything going on offense against Knox Central. However, Knox Central found enough success to secure a 6-1 victory.

Kaeli Hale led the way for the Lady Panthers with two RBI on one hit in three at-bats, followed by Morgan Bright with one RBI. Mara Wilson, Amber Partin, Jayci Corey, Abbie Abner, Morgan Warren, Caitlyn Jackson, Katie Broughton and Makayla Hinkle all had one hit. Wilson, Partin, Corey, Abner, Warren and Jackson all scored one run each.

Mackenzie Miller took to the circle for the Bobcats, pitching six innings. Miller allowed five hits, six runs, six earned runs, two walks and 15 strikeouts. Makenzie Napier drove in the Lady Cats’ lone run of the day. She had one hit with one RBI. In 26 total at-bats, the Lady Cats only managed five hits and one run. Kayleigh Saylor, Sarah Brooks, Mary-Kate Smith, Napier, and Elizabeth Black all had one hit each.
