CGNHP holds prescribed burns

Throughout the week, the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park are burning prescribed fires throughout parts of the park. Rangers say that prescribed burns help protect the park and control the park to prevent disasters, and prescribed burns help them control a wildfire if it were to happen. The fires are just as important as the forestry they are protecting.
