Middlesboro ARH receives awards at healthcare conference

At the 19th annual HealthCare Service Excellence conference held recently in Florida, Middlesboro ARH Hospital and members of its staff received six awards of excellence in improving the patient experience.

In 2018, the Summit Awards committee received over 233 nominations from 23 different healthcare organizations spanning 11 states. Fifty-five of the nominations were chosen as Pinnacle Achievers (the best of the best), and 15 of those 55 were presented the Summit Award. Middlesboro ARH Hospital received four Pinnacle Awards and two Summit Awards.

The HealthCare Service Excellence Conference is dedicated to delivering evidence-based solutions to help hospitals and other healthcare facilities improve the overall patient experience.

The Summit Award is the highest award of excellence presented at the HealthCare Service Excellence Conference. It is awarded to innovative and progressive individuals, teams and healthcare facilities who have made outstanding progress towards improving the patient experience and staff engagement. Individuals, teams or organizations must be nominated to be eligible for a Summit Award.

ARH is a not-for-profit health system operating 12 hospitals in Barbourville, Hazard, Harlan, Hyden, Martin, McDowell, Middlesboro, West Liberty, Whitesburg and South Williamson, Ky. and Beckley and Hinton, Wv., as well as multi-specialty physician practices, home health agencies, home medical equipment stores and retail pharmacies.
