A Middlesboro woman remains in jail with no bond after her arrest Friday morning by Middlesboro Police Officers.
Samantha Smith, 25, is charged with first-degree trafficking in controlled substance first degree (greater than two grams methamphetamine) and advertisement of drug paraphernalia. She was also served a probation violation during her arrest.
Just after midnight Friday morning, officers Nick Capps and Joel Quillen, along with Sgt. Josh Burchett, performed a knock and talk at a residence on Dorchester Avenue.
The citation states that the officers were greeted at the door by another female, but Smith stated the residence was hers and gave the officers the consent to search.
Capps and the officers searched the home and in Smith’s bedroom they found a black Sentry box lying on the bed with a single distribution baggy and a digital scale.
When the box was opened, Capps found distribution baggies and two baggies with a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine that weighed approximately 37 grams.
Smith was then placed under arrest and transported to the Bell County Detention Center.
