A joint press conference was held on Friday to release the anticipated lineup for the upcoming first-ever music festival in Bell County. Main Street Pineville, Bell County Tourism and Pine Mountain State Resort Park have joined forces to create the Laurel Cove Music Festival.

The event will take place at the iconic Laurel Cove Amphitheater in Pine Mountain State Resort Park on June 7-8 and will feature a mixture of local, regional and national artists.

On June 7, headlining the evening will be Cincinnati-based Arlo McKinley and the Lonesome Sound.

“They are one of the fastest rising artists in the country scene. Arlo’s spellbinding voice and heart-felt lyrics pack a punch that leaves the audience hanging on to every note,” Jacob Roan, Director of Main Street Pineville said during the conference.

Friday will also feature other incredible acts including Justin Wells, Nicholas Jamerson and the Morning Jays, Blake Berglund, Tiffany Williams, Brandon Fulson, and Lauren Beeler.

Saturday’s headliner will feature Kentucky-born and Oklahoma-raised folk savant John Moreland.

“John is well known for being an exceptional word-smith and a songwriter’s songwriter,” Roan explained. “His lyrics are often cryptic, but at the same time are able to weave themselves into the listeners own personal experiences.”

Rounding out Saturday’s show will be The Wooks, John R. Miller and the Engine Lights, Eric Bolander Trio, Coby Langham, Luna and the Mountain Jets, John Clay, Tyler Smith and the Still Runners, Dave Shoemaker and Dalton Mills.

Laurel Cove Amphitheater can seat just shy of 1,000 people and is best known throughout the region as the home of the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival’s Queen’s Coronation.

“It has been under-utilized as a concert venue in the past,” Director of Bell County Tourism Jon Grace explained. “We are going to change that with the inaugural Laurel Cove Music Festival.”
