Main Street Rag Press in Charlotte, North Carolina has published Johnson City resident Larry D. Thacker’s Grave Robber Confessional. Already the author of Mountain Mysteries: The Mystic Traditions of Appalachia, the two poetry chapbooks Voice Hunting and Memory Train, and the full collection Drifting in Awe (2017), this is Thacker’s fifth book.

Grave Robber Confessional was released in January.

Grave Robber Confessional is “a bit of a departure from the usual,” says Thacker. “Imagine the veiled world between cemetery caretaker’s everyday duties and life versus the goings-on out there among the stones. That’s where I wanted these poems to wander as they contemplated both the seriousness and humor of death, dying, and living near constant reminders of our mortality.”

Thacker will be reading from his work at events throughout the Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and West Virginia region this year.
