KSP arrest Knox man on charges of rape, sexual abuse

A Knox County man remains behind bars on a $50,000 cash bond for multiple criminal charges involving sexual abuse and rape.

Troopers from Kentucky State Police Post 10 in Harlan arrested Joseph Davis, 29, of Artemus and charged him with three counts of sodomy first degree, three counts sexual abuse first degree, three counts criminal abuse first degree, and one count of rape first degree.

According to a press release from KSP, on Jan. 26, 2016, the Knox County Social Services received a complaint that involved allegations of the sexual abuse of children under the age of 12.

According to the report, authorities launched an investigation, and Trooper Josh Cox received evidence that led to an indictment being issued last Friday.

Davis remains in the Knox County Detention Center, and the case is still under investigation by Trooper Cox.
